“OWNDAYS Philippines and CURMA Drive Positive Change for Sea Turtles and Coastal Communities”

OWNDAYS Philippines and the Cases for Change campaign have made significant progress toward their shared goal of protecting sea turtles and promoting sustainable coastal communities. Through the sale of limited-edition CURMA cases, 100% of the proceeds were directed to conservation efforts, including sea turtle protection, habitat restoration, coastline cleanups, and supporting the livelihoods of fisherfolk. The campaign’s objective is to release one million sea turtles by 2030. CURMA (Center for Underwater Resource Management and Advocacy) is dedicated to conservation and community-based initiatives aimed at safeguarding marine ecosystems. A handover ceremony was held on November 8th, where OWNDAYS Philippines Managing Director Vohne Yao, CURMA Executive Director Carlos Tamayo, and Community Development Manager Kristine Tamayo celebrated the campaign’s success and its lasting impact on both coastal communities and ocean conservation. The collective efforts of OWNDAYS Philippines and all campaign supporters are driving meaningful change, contributing to a future where the ocean and sea turtle populations thrive.
