During the World Junior Championship of the World Surf League held in San Juan, La Union from January 13-19, participants, locals, and tourists gathered for a special turtle hatchling release. International surfers Sanoa Olin and Isla Hoppatz had the honor of opening the release box, allowing the endangered hatchlings to begin their journey into the ocean.

This event beautifully blended world-class surfing with marine conservation, highlighting the vital connection between the sport and environmental stewardship. The release was a powerful reminder of the shared responsibility to protect the planet.
